TIRANA, June 18 /ATA/ – Primary sectors of the country’s economy, namely the extraction, processing and construction industries recorded a double-digit growth in terms of volumes, sales and wages in the first quarter of 2021 compared to the same period of the previous year.
The National Institute of Statistics (INSTAT) said Friday that index of net sales in the primary sector rose 23 % year-on-year.
The net sales index of “Electricity, Gas, Steam” business group increased by 23.6%, production in volume grew 43.8 % and the wage fund index increased by 2.3% compared to the same period of the previous year.
The water supply and waste treatment and management sector increased its net sales by 20.0%. The production index volume increased by 23.5%. The wage index increased by 8.5%, compared to the same period a year ago.
