TIRANA, June 17 /ATA/ Fatbardh Kadilli, who was the candidate in elections for the Democratic Party head, expressed his conviction that Sali Berisha and Lulzim Basha have nothing to propose to the DP.
In a televised interview, Kadilli touched on party elections and current developments in DP.
Asked about the statements of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who hinted that he would return to the DP, Kadilli said he did not believe that Berisha would return. “Berisha knows that he will not return, if he had wanted he would have stayed, he could have returned in 2017 and 2021. He made this statement after the elections were over. It is in Berisha’s nature to take on challenges and keep fighting. So these are expressions of his will, rather than a concrete project on his part. I am convinced that either he or Basha have nothing to propose to the DP. “I respect the work he has done before,” he added.
Kadilli also spoke about the statement of Basha on cooperation with 3 candidates in the race.
“It is not about extending hands of cooperation in the literal sense. I do not know why it was read as an offer of cooperation, there was a cynical statement on the side of Basha. I do not expect Basha to invite me to fight Rama. When I fought Rama, Basha was not here. I have been in Besnik Mustafaj’s team since 2000 when Rama ran for Tirana mayor. I will be inside the party, I will fight Rama, there is no need for anyone to invite me for this. I will do my best to make sure that the political manifesto will resonate with every member of the Democratic Party”, said Kadilli.
