TIRANA, June 17 /ATA/ – Minister of Education, Sports and Youth Evis Kushi met Thursday with teachers, high school seniors and their parents to discuss some of the problems that marred the final high school exams few days ago.
In her remarks at the meeting, Education Minister said that “the deficiencies will help education authorities to conduct an in-depth examination and complete review of the State Matura, regulatory acts and its administration.”
Acting following a protest launched by high school seniors over the difficult mathematics exam few days ago, the Ministry of Education decided to meet the students’ demand and decrease the minimum point limit.
“Taking notice of the concern expressed by students, teachers and parents, taking also into consideration the fact that the outgoing school year didn’t run normally due to the pandemic-related difficulties, where despite the fact that high school seniors have attended in-person classes across the country, except 10 high risk municipalities where online schooling was applied, we have decided to meet the students’ demand to decrease the minimum limit point,” Kushi said in a statement few days ago.
The Ministry of Education will also launch an in-depth review of the entire process to identify the potential problems and fully review whole final high school exam process, the regulatory acts and its management.
