TIRANA, June 14 /ATA/ The exhibition “Treasures from the Archive Library” was opened today in the premises of Tirana Castle
Present at this exhibition organized by the Directorate of Archives of Albania were also Minister of Culture Elva Margariti and Director of the Archives Ardit Bido.
In the materials put on display are found old publications related to history, science, religious publications, literature, Sami Frashri’s dictionary, etc., which are generally written in “Ottoman” but also in “Greek”. These materials are also classified as very important and are also found here in this exhibition. Here you will also find antiquaries dating back to 1600.
This exhibition will stay open for two days where you can see treasures that can not be seen next time.
Minister of Culture Elva Margariti said that she had accepted with great pleasure the invitation because not only the castle of Tirana returns once again as an entertainment environment, but also a space that talks about art and history.
“Also for the fact that these treasures convey rare values and the desire we have to see them. I discovered that a colossal amount of work has been done by the Albanian Archives during the year of the pandemic, highlighting a library that has been dormant for 30 years. A number of 15 thousand titles have already been digitized. The archive has turned into an open space and not just where values are stored and this has been done by bringing as many different categories as possible to visit. We too, in collaboration with the National Library during the pandemic, have uncovered rare hidden treasures that belong to all of us. If we did not do this, we would not have done our job,” she said.
While the director of Archives Ardit Bido thanked Minister of Culture who, as he said, “is always by the side of our team, despite the fact that we have no administrative connection”.
“Half of the work of the archive is related to culture, so I appreciate the cooperation and support. “Kalaja e Tiranës” has also given us a help for the space it provides us for our work. These antiques are the value of our nation which has been hidden and is now accessible to all. These exhibitions have rare values, because they fascinate and bring the public as close as possible. We are trying to offer those interested all the materials that they are interested in and have them all available, the same like a “One stop shop”. We have copies here which are unique in our country dating from the 16th century and are a special asset. I am sure that you will be amazed as we did when we saw them for the first time “, said Bido. /j.p/p.s./
