TIRANA, June 11 /ATA/ / The government is working to systematically address employment by reorienting the education and training system towards the needs of the labour market.
Quality Vocational Education and Training, combining theory with on-the-job learning, according to the government, is one of the most important tools we will use to re-launch post-pandemic economy and ensure the transition to a digital and green economy.
The Director of the National Agency for Employment and Skills, Elira Demiraj, announced that today 80% of students who are still in vocational schools are employed in the labour market.
“We are all aware that from a centralized economy, where economic sectors created certain jobs such as energy, tourism, state administration, we made the transition to an open economy propelling economic sectors to an unprecedented development,” she said.
We, Demiraj continued, are preparing a professional workforce, but one employee needs at least 4 years to gain the required skills.
According to Demiraj, the training of labour force for the market requires a change of stereotypes. “It seems an unpopular profession with the young people, but it is much in demand in the labour market,” said Demiraj
