TIRANA, June 8/ATA/ The Electoral College decided today to reject the Democratic Party’s request for the exclusion of 7 judges.
According to the Electoral College, the DP’s claims that its seven members do not guarantee impartiality in the trial are unfounded.
The Democratic Party yesterday demanded the exclusion of 7 out of the 8 judges of the Electoral College who have dropped the lawsuits for Gjirokastra, Vlora and Berat.
According to the DP, “With the decisions given so far, these judges, like the political commissioners of the Commission of Complaints and Sanctions, reject transparency over the April 25 election massacre.”
Today, the Democratic Party reacted and called it an unprecedented act for the College to examine ‘itself’.
Democratic Party legal representative Marash Logu said that the meeting started at 08:30 this morning, where the judges will judge on a request for disqualification. Logu considered this a unique act in the history of world jurisprudence.
“With unprecedented urgency, today at 08:30, the Electoral College decided to review the request of the Democratic Party for the exclusion of 7 judges (out of eight) due to the violation of the right to a fair and impartial trial. I very much hope that the 7 judges of the College will not go all the way to illegality, judging by a request for their exclusion (judges themselves). This would be a unique act in the history of world jurisprudence.”/p.s./
