Demolition of illegal constructions along Albanian coast to start on Monday

TIRANA, June 6 /ATA/ – The National Territory Protection Inspectorate affirmed Sunday that it will start on Monday the operation to demolish illegal buildings along coastal areas across Albania as protection of the territory and tourism development are part of the top government priorities.

The NTPI chief inspector Ajet Zyberaj said that the operation will begin simultaneously in two coastal areas, namely the coastal towns of Ksamil, southern Albania, and Velipoje in northwest.

He said that the operation will then go on to demolish all illegal constructions built along the country’s coastline.

Zyberaj said that no illegal building will be spared, adding that 15 constructions are slated to demolished in Velipoje and 30 in Ksamil.

“We will tolerate no law violation and nobody who tolerates the law offenders,” Zyberaj added.
