TIRANA, May 31/ATA/ The kidney transplant package with alive donors, which includes pre-transplant examinations for recipient, and donor, consultation, surgery and follow-up is one more step towards universal health coverage.
The Compulsory Health Insurance Fund said that 101 patients have undergone free transplants through public funding in non-public hospitals, since the beginning of this service.
“The Kidney Transplant package has not been interrupted even during the difficult period created by the COVID-19 pandemic. 11 kidney transplants were performed only during this period”, – said the Insurance Fund.
Kidney transplant is part of free health packages, which are funded by the state in non-public hospitals./k.s/j.p/p.s./
