TIRANA, May 28 /ATA/ US ambassador Yuri Kim met with SPAK Chief Arben Kraja and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Director Aida Hajnaj.
The meeting focused on SPAK’s successful results and the challenges they are facing in their first year. “The United States supports SPAK’s important role in the successful implementation of the justice reform. Real progress is taking place. SPAK started 2021 with real results from big cases. As the midpoint of 2021 is approaching, Chief Kraja and Director Hajnaj reaffirmed to Ambassador Kim that work continues intensively at SPAK. Despite the challenges and attacks, SPAK is focused on showing that no one is above the law. They continue to investigate numerous major organized crimes, corruption and election crimes and are determined to bring impunity to an end. No one is above the law,” the announcement of the US Embassy concludes.
