TIRANA, May 26/ATA/- The head of the General Directorate of Taxation (GDT), Delina Ibrahimaj stated on Wednesday that businesses must pay the generated tax installments for 2020 which will not be generated for 2021, as the government has decided to increase the profit tax for businesses with an annual turnover below 14 million ALL.
In an interview with Albanian Telegraphic Agency-ATA, Ibrahimaj said that, through a Normative Act of April 23, 2020, the government decided to postpone the profit tax installments due to the pandemic’s economic impact as they were not forgiven.
“There has been a misunderstanding about the interpretation of the Normative Act of April 23, 2020, at the height of the pandemic, at a time when the government was committed to helping small businesses, but not only large businesses and employees,” Ibrahimaj said.
“The Normative Act, postponed all installments of prepayment of profit tax for 2020,” Ibrahimaj stressed. //a.i/
