TIRANA, May 25 /ATA/ – By I. Vata/ The Democratic Party head, Lulzim Basha, held a meeting on Tuesday in Kuçova and Dimal, where he stated that April 25 had nothing in common with democracy.
He said that we will emerge united and strong from the internal process of June 13 elections for the party head.
“We meet a few weeks after one of the toughest battles the country has seen and the Democratic Party has ever fought in 30 years of pluralism. A battle which has been fought in all corners of Albania, even here in Kuçova by the democrats led by you and by the citizens who are eager for change.”
A battle that as I said from the outset, had nothing in common with democracy and democratic rules because we do not enter into battle with a political opponent, but with a regime that has unified the party and state, as was demonstrated and publicly revealed by the OSCE-OHDIR mission, and upgraded the scheme of cooperation with organized crime. From this point of view, although the April 25 station does not constitute the change we fought for, although the change has come to a standstill for some time, we have achieved something: we have shown our strength, but also the strength of the people.
While in Dimal, Basha said that we will emerge united from this battle
“Whoever thinks that the battle ended on April 25 is wrong, whoever thinks that we will be brought to our knees is twice wrong. Why? Because we have always emerged from the battle united, we were united in the battle of April 25 and my first request is to emerge united from this internal race which is a much bigger opportunity than the normal campaign that does not give us time to talk to each other.”
