TIRANA, May 21/ATA/ Beginning from today, a new website dedicated to the libraries of Tirana comes to the aid of book lovers: bibliotekat.tirana.al.
Attending this presentation, in the reconstructed library “Hamit Beqja”, Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj said that neighborhood libraries are civic spaces, which are receiving due attention with their revitalization, as well as attendance by young people of the city.
Veliaj added that the opening of new libraries in the neighborhoods of Tirana and their use for youth and social activities is becoming a trend.
The Mayor stressed that next year Tirana will be the European Capital of Youth, so we have a historic chance to turn our city, but also the youth of Tirana, into a postcard of what our society is in reality. He gave the good news for young writers, as the Municipality of Tirana will create a special program for young publishers, offering financial support.
In these 6 years, the Municipality of Tirana has opened 9 libraries in different neighborhoods of the capital, which also serve as multifunctional centers./r.e/p.s./
