TIRANA, May 19 /ATA/ –By I. Vata/ – The Head of the Socialist Party’s parliamentary group Taulant Balla commented on the United States decision to declare former Albanian president and prime minister Sali Berisha “persona non grata”, recalling the CEZ scandal that cost Albanian taxpayers a total of 414 million euros.
“CEZ affair is the largest corruption scandal over past 30 years in Albania. Berisha’s actions cost Albanian state 414 million euros in damages,” Balla said.
The Socialist official said “this case can’t be closed and the involved individuals in this affair, starting with Sali Berisha, should be put under investigation.”
