TIRANA, May 9 /ATA/ – The main opposition Democratic Party on Sunday submitted a set of voluminous files to the Central Election Commission (CEC), claiming that the documents contained evidence, “clearly showing how the will of the Albanian citizens was deformed.”
DP legal representatives told reporters that the files “clearly showed” what they called “an electoral massacre in Albania.”
“It is our duty to establish all the evidence and the documents we posses and go on with the battle for the truth and the Albanian citizens on all fronts and all possible means,” legal representatives Marinela Ziu and Marash Logu said.
“The April 25 election process was an electoral massacre orchestrated and executed by the Rama-Doshi-Rakipi regime. Albanians and their families are the victims of such massacre. DP has the duty to firmly resist and fight to restore democracy in the country. We are handing over to CEC hundreds of evidence and facts, showing the deformation of the will of the Albanian citizens, the biggest election theft in Albania, from the vote-buying to pressure on votes, use of personal data to exercise criminal pressure on the citizens through the system of patronage of the party-state, involvement of the public administration, tenders, employment and illegal payment to buy votes,” they said.
The DP legal representatives also claimed that organized crime members ran in the parliamentary elections, while organized crime groups were used to buy votes and threaten citizens under protection or inaction of the State Police and prosecutors.
