TIRANA, May 6 /ATA/ Strawberries are among the best –performing exports in Albanian fruit market.
Albanian strawberries, thanks to their natural quality, are much in demand in the markets of the region and the EU.
According to the statistics of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development, only during the last week of April (April 23-29) (which coincides with the season of abundant production and export of this fruit), 190 tons of strawberries, a figure 1.4% higher than in the same period last year, were exported from the markets of Lushnja-Fier.
Experts say that the expansion of greenhouse strawberry growing has led to increased exports mainly towards Italian, Kosovo and Serbian markets.
Fresh, directly from the farms of Fier, Lushnja and Divjaka, the juicy and tasty fruits confirm that they are heading into the peak season with abundant production and stable price ranging from 130 to 200 ALL in domestic markets.
