TIRANA, April 30 /ATA/ – The chairman of the Christian Democratic Party Nard Ndoka, whose party fared poorly and failed to win a seat in the new parliament after the April 25 general elections, said in a televised interview on Friday that the opposition’s coalition was dysfunctional.
Ndoka blamed the main opposition Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha for the opposition’s defeat in the last weekend’s parliamentary elections.
“Basha, as the opposition leader and the PM candidate, holds main responsibility also for the fact that he masterminded the opposition coalition. He made mistakes and I believe it is time for one to say some things for the sake of transparency. I think the opposition should have joined to run as a single coalition and a joint candidates list,” Ndoka said.
“Running in two coalitions or two candidate lists cost opposition dearly. This way the opposition would have emerged victorious in these elections,” he said.
According to him, the coalition with DP leader was a failure.
