TIRANA, April 13 /ATA/ The Center for Openness and Dialogue held the routine webinar of the cycle “Albanian language in the universities of the world”. The webinar was moderated by COD Director Milena Selimi.
It focused on the Albanian Language Department in Beijing, with professors Chen Funghua and Ma Sai, known by the Albanian names Moza and Bora.
Tirana, Beijing, Vlora and Gjirokastra communicated through the Center for Openness and Dialogue, with lecturers from “Ismail Qemali” University, “Eqrem Çabej” University, Gjirokastra, as well as interested students.
Chen Fenghua, director of the Albanian language department and the Center for Albanian Studies at the University of Foreign Languages, Beijing (BFSU) brought an overview of the department in the past, at present and in the future.
With this chair, BFSU has become the first university where the Albanian language is taught in China and the only university with three full levels in the qualification of Albanian language specialists. Historically, the university, with the preparation of many diplomatic talents, has been known as the “Cradle of Diplomats” in China.
Veteran professors such as Yin Changliang, Xia Zhen, Jin Bing, Zhang Linhui, Xiao Guifen and Albanian experts such as Agron Fico, Ruzhdi Stringa, etc. have created a sound base of this department, where 173 bachelor students, 6 masters and 3 doctoral students are graduates.
This webinar coincided with two important anniversaries of BSFU: the 80th anniversary of the founding of the university and the 60th anniversary of the founding of the Albanian department at this university./p.s./
