Consumers, optimistic about improvement of economic situation

TIRANA, April 6 /ATA/ The Consumer Confidence Index (CPI) for improving the economy increased by 1.1% during Q1 of this year, compared to the corresponding period a year ago.

The Bank of Albania announces that the quarterly growth was driven by the improvement of three of the constituent components, namely the balance of large purchases which increased 3.9 percentage points, the expected overall financial situation of the household which increased 1.3% percentage points; and the general expected economic situation in the country by 0.8 percentage points.

Meanwhile, the fourth constituent component of CCI, income and expenses, decreased by 1.7 percentage points, according to the BoA.

The stimulus fiscal policy has reduced taxes for citizens and businesses, reflected in the increase of household financial income which, according to the BoA survey on Consumer Confidence Indicator for Q1 of 2021, recorded an increase of 1.3%.
