TIRANA, April 2 /ATA/ The Municipality of Durrës has begun preparations for the start of the tourist season by taking a series of measures so that to have a better season than last year.
Mayor of Durrës Emiriana Sako inspected the works that are being carried out on the coast of Durrës for the cleaning and arrangement of public spaces.
Mayor Sako stated that after these first works, the disinfection and cleaning of the sand will be carried out.
In addition to sand and sea tourism, Durrës aims at a year-round tourism given the rich cultural heritage of the city. There are two very important projects like the one for the amphitheater and the other project is the EU Program for cultural heritage which plans that 8 buildings from the city of Durrës will be reconstructed, revitalized and will be included in international guides.
Mayor Sako stated that considering the mass vaccination, which has started and also the government’s plan to vaccinate all hotel employees, it is foreseen that this year’s tourist season will be easier./p.s./
