TIRANA, April 2 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that Albania, from being the last country in the Balkans for the absorption of EU funds, is already in the first place.
In the meeting in Morava with the farmers, agro-processors and collectors of agricultural products of the area Rama said that, “The EU ambassador made public the application of another tranche of European support for agriculture, 90 million Euros. I am very proud of the fact that with the Agency Agricultural and Rural Development there is a completely different approach. ARDA has made a very significant leap from the last in the entire Balkans to the first place for absorption of EU funds.”
Further on, Prime Minister Rama said, “I am mentioning two significant figures that today in Albania we have doubled the area of cultivated land. In Albania in 2013, about 125 thousand ha of land were cultivated, while today we are on 250 thousand ha of land “.
“7 years ago, Albania imported 7 and exported only 1, today Albania imports 3 and exports 1, which means that the decrease in the import of agricultural products is related to the increase of production in the country and the increase of presence in the domestic market of your products and with the increase of exports “, – said Rama./ks/p.s./
