TIRANA, March 25 /ATA/ Ambassador of Japan Signs Grant Agreement for Providing a Sprinkler Truck and Mini-Excavator to Mat Municipality
On March 12th, the Ambassador of Japan, H.E. Mr. TAKADA Mitsuyuki, signed a Grant Agreement to donate one Sprinkler Truck and one Mini-Excavator to Mat Municipality. During the event, Mr. Agron MALAJ, Mayor of Mat, addressed his sincere gratitude to Ambassador TAKADA and Japan for their support, and emphasized the significance of this Grant for the Municipality and its people.
The Sprinkler Truck and Mini-Excavator will be provided to the Municipality of Mat in the framework of Japan’s Grant scheme “Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects” (GGP) to maintain and improve the existing Green Spaces, as well as develop and expand new Green Spaces in Mat Municipality. The EUR 81,300 Grant will finance the new Sprinkler Truck and Mini-Excavator.
Ambassador TAKADA wished for further development in the region’s Environmental Protection Sector and reaffirmed his country’s commitment to supporting Albania’s growth in the Environmental Protection Sector and other Sectors.
Japan has extended similar Grants to other Municipalities in Albania such as Korca and Elbasan Municipality in the field of Environmental Improvement providing them with vehicles and equipment. In the field Waste Management the Japanese Government has signed Grant projects with the Municipalities of Tropoja and Mirdite to provide a Waste Collection Truck and Waste Containers in order to help upkeep the Environment.
