TIRANA, March 19 /ATA/- Administering the AstraZeneca vaccine doses to teachers and education staff is in full swing across Albania, with the process being further expanded with vaccination of teachers in the north-eastern town of Bulqiza on Friday, as teachers, along with health workers and the elderly have been prioritized for vaccination.
The COVID-19 vaccination for teachers continues as planned in the municipality of Bulqize according to the instructions issued by the health authorities in the country.
The jabs will be administered to the elderly over 80.
Local government authorities in Bulqize encourage citizens to engage in these social groups and contribute to the fight of the disease by heeding the appeal to receive the vaccination as the only way to return back to normality as soon as possible.
The Ministry of Health and Social Protection said that more than 6.000 teachers have received the first dose of the anti-COVID vaccine to date. The combined vaccine roll-out for teachers and the seniors over 80 goes on according to the plan at the vaccination sites and schools throughout the country. A total of 36 619 doses have been administered since the start of the immunisation programme
