TIRANA, March 17 /ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that in the third term the objective is to pass the 1 billion euros on exports.
During the visit to the greenhouses of a farmer in Fier, who has got support by the National Scheme of the Albanian government through ARDA and has tripled the space with the latest technology for the production of fruits and vegetables, PM Rama said that, “We have gone up to 400 million euros for export and the objective is to exceed 1 billion in the third term ”.
“It is a realistic objective, as agriculture has entered another cycle and all the seeds that were sown at the beginning of the first term have started to give a network that only develops production, processing, export network,” Rama underlined.
The head of government said that, “The target to exceed 1 billion is very realistic.”
Further on, PM Rama said that, “Here is a market for foreign workers coming from other countries, countries that have unemployment and development problems and are very willing to work here at a cost that is equal to the cost of a worker here. This also happens in Italy, Greece and all of Europe, this will happen here in agriculture and in tourism “.
Farmer Alketi said that, “I want the whole area to be greenhouse as more people come.”We do not have the production capacity that those who come here, leave here and go to Turkey, Morocco because they have larger volumes.”
ARDA Director Frida Krifca said that, “This is an investment that started in 2017 and has been made with Alket’s capital. Our objective is to go with the investments in greenhouses because that is the primary production so far we have about 60 ha added in recent years, they are greenhouses that with the farmer’s own investment is difficult to do, as they are the latest technology. Meanwhile, we are moving forward with investments in processing because both must run in parallel with collection and cooling spaces.”/k.s/p.s./
