TIRANA, March 15/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated that through progressive taxation he had taken from the “oligarchs” during these two mandates over 1 billion dollars more taxes than they paid under the flat taxation of 9%
During the presentation of the “Action Plan 2021-2025”, Rama said that in these times, so difficult for the people who work and sacrifice, even in the conditions of excessive pandemic constraints, they have the courage to say: Albania wins by reducing the profit tax from 15 % to 9% of those they call “oligarchs”.
“These people claim: Albania wins if you give us the vote, you will give us 9% tax from your salary. Meanwhile, the richest, or as they call these “oligarchs” will no longer pay 15%, as we take them today, but will pay equally like those who are paid much less and earn much less because it is a flat tax. It puts under the same fiscal burden even the weakest, those who earn less, and the strongest those who earn more”, said the prime minister.
