TIRANA, March 13/ATA/ The number of transactions through the remote banking system, such as internet banking or mobile banking, reached a record figure of 4.12 million at the end of 2020, reported the Bank of Albania.
According to the BoA, this indicator has increased by 14% compared to a year ago.
A recently published joint study between the BoA and the World Bank showed that in the context of the situation created by the COVID-19 pandemic, citizens increased interest in making payments and financial transactions online.
“28.8% of Albanians have made or received a card payment in the last 12 months” – said the BoA./p.s./
