Basha-students: Departure of young people a national catastrophe, a challenge to Democratic Party

TIRANA, March 6/ATA/- The Chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha held on Saturday a meeting with students and representatives of European Democrat Students (EDS).

Present at this meeting were EDS chairman Carlo Angrisano and director of Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), Dr. Tobias Rüttershoff who appealed to young Albanians to cast vote and take control of the country’s destiny.

The leader of the Democratic Party (DP) Lulzim Basha during a communication with the students said that,” the biggest challenge of his government after April 25 is to curb the departure of young people from the country and the return of those who study abroad.

“The fact remains that, 75% of young people want to leave the country. 94% of those studying abroad do not want to return to Albania. Both of these make me extremely depressed. The first, to some extent I could even understand who want to study abroad, because this is a legitimate dream also one of the main government projects that will come out of the April 25 elections,” the DP leader Basha said.

“But second, the desire not to return but to continue to live abroad is a national catastrophe, which we can, should and will end through our economic program and in particular our youth program. The truth is quite simple, in order for the Albanian youth to win, for the Albania to win, we must remove Edi Rama. The man who has taken the country and its fates hostage, the man who has taken the fates of the Albanian youth hostage,” Basha stressed. //a.i/
