TIRANA, March 1/ATA/ The Democratic Party and the Socialist Movement for Integration signed today a coalition agreement for the April 25 general elections.
It supported and follows the agreement establishing the United Opposition, dated 23/04/2019.
It emphasizes that the agreement is in response to the arbitrary, unconstitutional changes of the Electoral Code and the Constitution of Albania of July 30, 2020.
The agreement was signed DP PD chairman Lulzim Basha and the Chairwoman of the SMI Monika Kryemadhi.
As the United Opposition, DP and SMI will compete in elections with two lists (DP-Alliance for Change + SMI), to achieve a full and comprehensive political-electoral representation and the crowning of the victory of the Opposition in the elections of April 25 2021.
The agreement carries the basic program pillars of both respective parties in the next government.
“Representation at all levels of the next government will be realized proportionally on the basis of the election result”, it is said in the text of the agreement.
After the signing of the agreement, the Chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha said that, “Our joint journey to change Albania begins today. Our coalition, the Democratic Party and the Alliance for Change and the Socialist Movement for Integration, have joined forces to ensure that April 25 is the day of change.”/p.s./
