TIRANA, February 26 /ATA/ Speaking about the possibility of increasing pensions, PM Rama said while in Berat that the desire is great, but it depends on investments and the performance of the economy.
The prime minister also recalled the pension reform. “We have made a reform in the field of pensions, which if it had been done 20 years ago, we would not have had these discussions today. Something has happened since the pension reform, a teacher who retires today has a higher pension than a teacher who retired before the reform. Before the reform, they had set a ceiling of 24 thousand Lek and put some supplementary pensions to justify in a few cases a larger pension. Today, the pension is as much as you have contributed, as much as you will receive, there is no ceiling. The more one contributes, the higher will be the level of the pension”, – said Rama.
Rama underlined that the increase of pensions is extremely related to the capacity to pay pensions. /j.p/p.s./
