TIRANA, Dec 22 /ATA/ – By Maela Marini/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Monday that “until a few years ago, start-ups were individual initiatives, without any ray of light in terms of attention and support, while today we have committed a special fund for enterprises of this nature, extending them from production, to services, light industry, tourism and in various fields such as modeling, design, handicrafts. ”
He stressed that “I am very pleased to say that 61 small and medium-sized enterprises have benefited from this scheme accounting for 66% of applicants which number 92 applicants in total, 30 winning enterprises have received support in the field of auditing, 28 have received support for equipment and the rest for software development. ”
The Prime Minister stressed that, “we are still in the embryo stage.”
“It is for this reason that we strongly believe that interaction with you is of paramount importance. You should not feel like passive actors in this process, but you should take on an active role. You should not just wait for our answers, but you should encourage finding ways to come up with new answers together. I strongly believe that you have really helped us with your work and track-record to aim high and better understand that there is an extraordinary perspective here. Theoretically, everyone knows this, but there is a real potential to develop this sector in terms of that perspective,” said Rama.
Prime Minister stressed that, “in the vision of Albania 2030, the weight that this aspect of our socio-economic life occupies, which is directly related to your work, is many times greater than the weight so far in relation to other aspects.” .
“This is because it is an aspect that intertwines with all other aspects in each field, empowers them. We are very encouraged by the fact that we have paved a new path with the TUMO center in Tirana. We are in the process of building a fantastic space up to the European or contemporary standards at the Pyramid building to house not only TUMO, but many initiatives and to convert the Pyramid into a hub of revolution, ” said Rama.
Prime Minister emphasized that, “in this aspect in Korça a flexible program has been launched to support start-ups, just like in Shkodra. Korça has received a fund to support this ecosystem. The new library of Korça is getting ready to be made available for a process of licensed coding boot camps. ”
Prime Minister added that, “in Vlora we are designing the project to convert that ghost building that for 40 years has shadowed the Flag Square and the heart of this center will offer space for start-ups and coding boot camps.”
“We want to create a whole network in all the centers of the regions of Albania so that young people can be directly involved in this network, find support for their initiatives, but also engage in boot camps to become coders and develop other skills as well as access a very large market without moving from Albania.”
