TIRANA, February 16 /ATA/ The Albanian Road Authority recommended that in some road axes the movement of vehicles should be done with chains because of frost caused by low temperature on the roads.
According to ARA, snowfall has stopped, but temperatures continue to be low and contractors have cleaned the axes overnight and distributed salt.
All drivers should be equipped with winter tires or chains, reduce speed, and obey traffic signs and instructions of the Traffic Police.
According to ARA, in the northern region, the movement of vehicles is partially done with chains: Trebisht-Customs, Cerenec Bridge-Klenjë, Trebisht-Customs, Peshkopi-Qafë Drajë, Qafë Bualli-Krastë.
“In the central region: Qafë Thanë-Doganë at Useku, the traffic goes on with one lane while the contractor company is working for complete cleaning of the road. Movement with chains or winter tires is recommended for: Lunik-Steblevë, in the last km Steblevë-Klenjë, Zemblak-Gorica.
While in the southern region, the roads are open without any snow, but conditioned by low temperatures vehicles must be equipped with winter tires.
