TIRANA, February 8 /ATA/- Kukës International Airport, currently the largest construction site in the North-Eastern city, is taking shape day by day as work is going ahead intensively and non-stop.
Prime Minister Edi Rama posted in the social media images from the works at this construction site.
“Every time I see the progress of works at the airport, I smile at the thought of Kukës boys living in London making the V sign and speaking ill when I posted the 3D project” , said Rama.
Kukës Airport extends over a territory of 512 thousand square meters, with a runway length of 1900 meters and a width of 45 meters. Its category is 3C, for the landing of big aircrafts.
The projected capacity is about 1 million passengers per year. The project envisages all the necessary interventions to make Kukës Airport an airport of European standards, part of which will be the expansion of the runway on the northern side by about 500 meters, a new terminal, as well as a new tower./p.s./
