Basha: Hospitals facing total collapse, DP Health Program to provide dignified service

TIRANA, February 6 /ATA/- The chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha held on Saturday a meeting with doctors to discuss the DP Health Program, while emphasizing that we are making no promises. We are introducing the commitments of a plan which works as a whole. The principle of our Health Plan is: Money Follows the Patient”

If there is one sector where promises have not been fulfilled, this is the health sector. The majority promised Free Health Care was and health system is worse today if compared with 8 years ago.

“This is one of the reasons why in our approach we make no promises. No single promise. We only introduce commitments of a plan which works as a whole. None of the commitments can stand on its own. There are two main concerns and key areas where we provide immediate solutions to the normalization of the deep health crisis. One has to do with the health personnel and health facilities and the other with the patient, the citizen who needs service, as the main focus of health sector,” Basha said.

“The second step is to reform all the links that will provide this service. Today, in terms of tertiary service, the situation, ie hospitals are facing total collapse. Health system is on the verge of total collapse due to a wrong mentality that has led to total centralization and where there is centralization there is room for abuse, misuse and mismanagement. The more centralized the management, the more resources are wasted, the less money has gone to the patient,” Basha added. //a.i/
