Tabaku: 9% flat tax to reduce informality, do justice to middle class households

TIRANA, Feb. 2 /ATA/- The 9% flat tax will reduce informality. The 9% flat tax to do justice to the middle class households, the former MP of the Democratic Party, Jorida Tabaku said today during a statement to the media on the DP economic program.

In her remarks, Tabaku said that, the Rama government imposed taxes on middle class households and reduced taxes on the oligarchs. The aid package was used by Rama’s clients, not by the small and medium enterprises. Special laws brought about injustice and inequality only. The flat tax focuses on the family and the individual.

“Since 2013, the tax system of the Renaissance has been a system of fines, a clientelist system, a favored system with 7 levels, where the state itself favored informality and where the state itself supported informality,” Tabaku said.

“50% of the economy today is informal. While 97% of small, medium-sized enterprises, citizens with middle income are taxed and overtaxed. Special laws, laws that favor a certain group today have become the rule and not the exception to the rule,” she added.//a.i/
