TIRANA, Jan 30 /ATA/- Since March 13, 2020, when the first two positive cases of COVID-1 were reported, the number of people infected with this virus in Kosovo until now has gone up to 59, 646 cases.
Whereas the number of fatalities due to coronavirus infection has hit 1,487 persons.
Currently, in the country there are 6,211 active cases of COVID-19.
During the last 24 hours, in the Laboratory of Molecular Microbiology at NIPHK and private laboratories using the RT-PCR method, a total of 1,926 samples taken from the NHSKU and the tracking of case contacts in the field were tested, of which 342 cases turned out to be positive. In the last 24 hours, 5 SARS CoV-2 fatalities were reported. Death cases are from the municipalities of Deçan 1 case (68 years old), Ferizaj 1 case (75 years old), Gjilan 1 case (64 years old), Mitrovica 1 case (69 years old) and Pristina 1 case (64 years old). The total number of positive cases is 59,646 cases out of 229,408 suspected of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and 1,487 deaths.
“In the last 24 hours, 235 patients have recovered, putting the total number of cured cases to date at 51,948, while the number of active cases is 6,211,” according to the National Institute of Public Health of Kosovo.
