TIRANA, Jan.29 /ATA/- The Albania’s Prime Minister Edi Rama inspected today the construction site of the New Tourism Center, the third of its kind after those built in Valbona and Vermoshi, public property of the Albanian Development Fund (ADF).
In his remarks, the Prime Minister Rama said that, “such a tourism center creates synergy and provides opportunities to sophisticate the offer more and is definitely one more structure. I have visited the new Tourism Centers built in Vermosh and Valbona and they are fantastic. They are also fantastic in terms of comfort. But they are also fantastic as gravity points. Of course, many structures have been developed here and as far as I can see, they continue to be developed and will continue to.”
While the Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi said that, “it is necessary for an operator to be above private operators because there are some services that need cooperation, but cooperation is not so easy to be achieved through operators so this business model has the potential to fill this gap. To build guides, joint business services.”
The head of ADF, Dritan Agolli, said that, “the New Tourism Center is being built in the building of the former old maternity hospital in Korça. The Government of Albania through the ADF is investing in the establishment of tourism development centers. This is the third in a row after the tourism development centers in Vermosh and Valbona.”
This building is being totally transformed, from a totally degraded building into a tourism development center, which will basically focus on coordination between tour operators, capacity development, tourism promotion,” Agolli stressed.
“The new Tourism Center will have a conference room, facilities for students, start-ups, internet, PC workshops,” he added.
“Tourism is an important sector that has a major impact on development of Korça economy. There has been a growing number of visitors, who choose Korça as their tourist destination and I believe that thanks to ADF-funded project, we will not only add a new asset to the tourist infrastructure, but we will also create the opportunity to qualify the staff who will serve in the tourism sector,” the mayor of Korça, Sotiraq Filo said. //a.i/
