TIRANA, Jan 26 /ATA/ – Prime Minister Edi Rama stated on Tuesday that the flood situation is less critical and the land flooding is minimal at the moment, compared to the past.
Asked at a news conference about a snapshot of flooded agricultural land and damage, Rama said that, “we have provided the snapshot for the phase that was more critical. We are now at a less critical phase.”
Of course, Rama said, “we are closely following the situation, but it is completely at reasonable levels now, given the high intensity of rainfall.”
Rama added that, “the main problem is landslides on some road axes after many days of rainfall, for which we are working around the clock.”
As for the land floods, Rama underlined that, “they are minimal at the moment. It is always measured in relation to what we have seen in the past, or even in relation to the intensity of rainfall because a lot of work has been done in the drainage system to successfully manage these situations.”
