TIRANA, Jan.26 /ATA/- Commercial banks in the country increased securities portfolio by 27% at the end of 2020, the Bank of Albania (BoA) reported on Tuesday.
According to BoA, at the end of the third quarter of 2020, the banking sector securities reached ALL 487 billion, or about EUR 4 billion.
The good capitalization rate of the banking sector has caused the banks to be the largest financiers of treasury bills and government bonds.
Currently, securities constitute more than 31% of the total assets of the Albanian banking sector. //a.i/
