Basha: Emergency to remove PM Rama keeps opposition united

TIRANA, Jan 23 /ATA/ – The main opposition Democratic Party leader Lulzim Basha said Saturday that his party had a clear and applicable governing program after the April 25 parliamentary elections in the country.

In a televised interview, the opposition leader focused on the country’s economic situation.

“There are no factories, no investments in information technology, and there are no strategic investments. Around 70% of the jobs created by the foreign investments in the country are attributed to the investment contracts signed when DP was in office, including Devolli hydropower plant, or the Trans-Adriatic pipeline project,” Basha claimed.

According to him, “it is because of this grim economic landscape that many people are thinking to leave the country as the only way out.”

“If Albania was able to attract these investments 8 or 12 years ago, I want to assure everyone that through our plan and through the international support we would normalize situation within a very short time after the April 25 elections,” he said.

Basha said that what keeps the opposition united is the emergency to oust Prime Minister Edi Rama from power.

“The opposition has responsibly calculated the scheme to maximize the popular vote. What brings us together is the necessity to remove Edi Rama as the only one to be blamed for the 8-year failure, poverty and the psychological and social crisis Albanians are going through” Basha said.
