TIRANA, Jan 20 /ATA/ “The SP has never acted to the detriment of Albania and has never worked against the interests of its country.”
10 years after the January 21 tragedy, the chairman of the SP parliamentary group, Taulant Balla called on citizens at a meeting in Belsh on Wednesday not to forget those who shot at the people and were never brought to justice, on the contrary the person responsible for that was promoted.
Looking back on the murder of Klodian Rasha, Balla said that the SP through its stand set the standard of Minister of Interior’s resignation although he had no direct responsibility, while encouraging the justice system to deliver justice.
“I want to tell all young men and women that the Socialist Party of Albania, in the case of Klodian Rasha’s murder, condemned the act, calling on the justice system to deliver justice, and the latter is working to ensure that the justice is done. For his part, Minister of Interior, despite the fact that he was not directly responsible for the murder, stepped down from his post. Because this is the standard set by the SP,” Balla said.
“After Berisha gave orders and Basha executed his orders on January 21, 2011, Basha did not take any responsibility, Basha did not face justice, on the contrary he was promoted,” said Balla.
“10 years later, the justice has not been delivered yet. For justice to be done, it is not enough that 2-3 Republican Guards who pulled the trigger are held to account, while the one who appeared on TV and declared that he gave the order to shoot at his people was not held accountable”, said Balla.
