“Digitize a learner,” recent initiative in support of online classes

TIRANA, Dec 26 /ATA/ At this time of adversity which has dictated schools to shift to blended teaching, the Youth Parliament has launched a remarkable initiative to come to the aid of learners.

The initiative “Digitize a student” is the latest idea supported by the Municipality of Tirana, which is aimed at equipping students with the right tools to attend classes on digital platforms. The initiative conceived by the Youth Parliament started with the “Sami Frashëri” high school, where its first two students received a tablet each to attend online classes.

The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, invited everyone who has the opportunity to join the initiative to express solidarity in these difficult times for children, who have shifted to online classes due to the pandemics.

“I am very proud of you, it is such a fantastic idea! It is better to lead by example. The fact that the Youth Parliament has decided to propose a concrete initiative, whereby one student ‘adopts’ another student by donating a digital tablet – someone may have used it, someone has bought a new one, or someone who has the economic opportunities to buy two, one for himself and another for his friend – but when everyone is involved in such an initiative, we can call it a success story. It is really a great joy to receive, but I am convinced that shared joy is double joy , ” said Veliaj.

Representative of Youth Parliament, Ersa Fero, said that many citizens and businesses are expected to join this initiative.
