TIRANA, Dec 11 /ATA/ In the third quarter of this year, remittances amounted to EUR 197 million, recording an increase of EUR 76 million compared to the corresponding period a year earlier.
Referring to the statistics published by the Bank of Albania in the report “Balance of Payments,” this is the highest level of remittances since the second quarter of 2010, when the emigrants’ remittances amounted to EUR 219 million, according to the timely reports of the Bank of Albania.
Italy, Greece, Germany and Great Britain remain the main remittance channels in the country, due to the high number of emigrants living and working in these countries.
