TIRANA, November 25/ATA/ After the extraordinary success of the first nesting platform, the team of the Ornithological Association of Albania (AOS) and the Transmission System Operator (OST) installed another platform for the Storks in Fier, offering more space and above all more security for the expected birds in nests.
The new platform, which replaces an old but unsafe nest, offers more ample space for future nesters. To make it more attractive, the AOS and OST team took care to make good use of the old nesting material which was placed on the new platform.
At the same time, this action also led to the replacement of a damaged insulator which caused the line to disconnect and was a potential source of danger to the nesters.
“Our thanks go to OST and especially for the Fier Operational Unit which through full professionalism and cooperation ensured the installation in record time of this new platform”, emphasizes AOS.
We, says AOS, remain confident that this model of cooperation will yield other successful results in the years to come.
“Now, with the arrival of spring 2021, we will watch every day in the sky for the arrival of nesting storks in this new and very welcoming home,” said AOS./k.s//a.a/p.s./
