TIRANA, October 31 /ATA/ The Technical Committee of Experts for the COVID-19 pandemic asked today the chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha to withdraw his claims, reminding him that they are professionals in the field and that they are there to serve the Albanian citizens at this very challenging time.
“With deep regret and indignation, we heard the accusations made against us by the Chairman of the Democratic Party, Lulzim Basha. It has been a long time since, in addition to facing a very difficult situation, such as the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been attacked and insulted in our work, starting with the chairman of the Democratic Party and a few other politicians,” is read in their statement.
“We, the statement continues, members of the Technical Committee of experts, are professionals in our field and today, we are part of this Committee, set up in implementation of the Law on Epidemics, to serve the Albanian citizens in this extremely challenging time”.
“We are nobody’s “facade”, as Lulzim Basha claims. We do not accept allegations of failure in our work, made by a party chairman, whose professional training is far from letting him make judgments about the work of this committee. Every day of our work, we are guided only by the principles of professionalism and every decision we have made, we have made based only on these principles”, the statement is quoted.
The Committee of Experts expressed the belief that the strategy followed by them so far, has managed to minimize the number of infections and fatalities caused by the coronavirus, which, according to them, is clearly confirmed by the comparative figures with the countries of the region, and Europe./a.gjonaj/p.s./
