TIRANA, Oct 22 /ATA/ Korça’s maternity hospital offers the inhabitants of this region a decent service as well as maternal and newborn health care up to the standards.
Minister of Health and Social Protection, Ogerta Manastirliu, has shared the example of Korça maternity hospital which was transformed beyond recognition after the investment as well as the previous conditions which, according to the minister, epitomize a decaying health care.
“Work started, work done. Mothers in Korça, once upon a time, had to deliver their babies at a maternity hospital which was the symbol of a decaying healthcare,” she said.
“For two years, since we started work, the situation has changed beyond recognition. The previous maternity home in dilapidated condition is nothing but a bad memory, while today the newborns of Korça receive the first hug from their mothers in settings up to the standards, comparable to all western countries, ” said Minister Manastirliu.
