Oil workers strike/Ready to talk with reason

TIRANA, October 21 /ATA/ “No pressure, no ultimatum of any form works with me and this government. In the case of Ballsh oilmen I have made it very clear that we are not two sides, we are actually part of one family. We do not have any account to open or to close with the workmen because it is a private relationship “, said today Prime Minister Edi Rama in a press conference.

But, Rama added that, “Under the conditions when they have these great difficulties and refuse to enter the state assistance program according to all applicable laws, we are ready to sit down, discuss this problem. The government has not created it, nor do we have a magic wand to solve it.”

“They have to end strike if they want to talk to us. Strikes are made for awareness, we are maximally aware from day 1. With ultimatums, pressure, blackmail, threats, coercive forms, expressions like ‘salaries, then we sit and talk’, I’m sorry but it does not work. I am very sorry with those who have undertaken this initiative, but I am ready today, in a second, to start talking to those with reason”, said Rama.

He stressed that, “This government is not sitting still and is not turning its back on anyone.”

“The easiest thing is to go on strike and have the government do this or that. They take to the streets and say do the sewers, but we are not sitting, or turning our backs on anyone. We do everything we can and everything we have in hand to do. If a whole city has been created without permission, there will definitely be problems, but not all things can be done in the blink of an eye. With pressure nothing is gained with me and our government, zero. Everyone should learn this”, said Rama. /j.p/p.s./
