4th tech-library opens in Tirana; public libraries in quarters get transformed

TIRANA, October 20 /ATA/ The latest innovative project of the Municipality of Tirana and UNICEF is transforming Tirana libraries from simple reading environments to technology incubators for children and young people. Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj and the UNICEF representative in Tirana Roberto de Bernardi inaugurated the newest innovative laboratory “Misto Treska”, the fourth in the capital.

The mayor expressed confidence that this initiative will also be a success story. “What unites us with UNICEF is the investment in knowledge. Today, I am very proud of these four new points that we open, they are only the first 4 seeds that we plant in Tirana. I tend to always be that chronic optimist and see the best, so I really wish success to all four libraries “, he said.

Veliaj said that the ambition of the Municipality of Tirana is to teach young people the professions of the future, and the best proof of this is the opening within a week of several digital academies. Within 7 days we opened the Tumo center, the Software Development Academy (Software Development Academy) was opened, which is actually for an older age. And with UNICEF we did this project, which comes for all ages”, he stressed.

UNICEF Representative in Tirana, Roberto de Bernardi said that these new libraries offer an opportunity for all. As in this library, i.e. “Misto Treska”, but also in other public libraries, where the same project is being developed, we must keep in mind that no one should be left behind. As UNICEF, we are very proud to see the contribution we have made, so that these ideas materialize. Once again I would like to thank the mayor and his team for the development of this project”, said De Bernardi.

“Misto Treska” library is located in Unit 10 in Tirana, “Musine Kokalari” in Unit 7, “Hamit Beqja” in Unit 8 and “Aleksandër Moisiu” in Unit 4, offer not only reading angles, but also convenient logistics for digital education, coding, innovative environments for startups, as well as child-friendly spaces thanks to WiFi. z.tosku / j.p/p.s./
