Basha’s bluff with small business on zero tax

TIRANA, October 17 /ATA/ The profit tax on small business with an annual turnover of up to 5 million Lek since January 1, 2016 is zero.

Prime Minister Edi Rama posted today a video in the social media of the leader of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha who during a TV show stated that the government has not removed the annual taxes from small business.

“A real artist, every day at work to make us laugh”, remarked the Prime Minister.

While the journalist addressed him claiming that, “Rama has completely removed the tax for small business”, Basha denied such a fact. “I am in constant contact with businesses. It is enough to go to a street business today and ask: ‘Do you pay zero tax? The answer is no.”

But, during the meetings he had with the small business, they told Basha that they pay zero annual taxes.

Businesses with an annual turnover of up to 14 million Lek per year from January 1, 2021 will not pay profit tax for a period of 9 years.

Thanks to this decision, there will benefit 91% of businesses operating in the market./a.gjonaj/p.s./
