TIRANA, October 13 /ATA/ Beginning from January 1, all farmers who use motorized vehicles to work the land will benefit from the state newest program, that of free oil.

The state cuts the burden of excise, turnover tax and carbon tax according to the consumed amount, a relief of about 70 Lek per liter.

The difference derived from the market price and the tax cut goes for the farmer all as free oil, in a special card that will be provided to all interested parties.

In regard to the application, it will be free and in real time through a form that is filled in electronically in e-Albania platform.

For the first year, this program will cost the state budget a total of 10 million USD.

In the government forecasts, the free oil program will simultaneously serve to formalize the sector, increase exports and better identify the needs and farms that will be supported with subsidies in the coming years.

Agriculture is among the few sectors unaffected by the COVID crisis, with a real growth of 3.5% in the first quarter and a real growth of 2.63% in the second quarter corresponding to the quarantine period.
