Next year Albania’s economic growth will be more than 6%

TIRANA, October 6/ATA/ Prime Minister Edi Rama stated today that “Economic growth in Albania for next year will be about 6% plus”.

“Fortunately, I can tell you from the experience of these years, the forecasts made at home, i.e. within the government for economic growth are those that are closer to reality. I generally believe in this trend. So we never say we will grow 12% next year. I think it will be around 6% plus next year”, said Rama during a press conference.

Regarding the budget, the Prime Minister stressed that, “It will be public in the coming days”.

Asked about the financing of the Skavica HPP, Prime Minister Rama said that, “Financing options are the issue we are dealing with now”.

Prime Minister Rama also responded to the interest of journalists whether there will be a Sovereign Guarantee 3.

“Both sovereign guarantees are working best. Second, no one knows how long the pandemic will last, but today no one is prevented from working, developing his activity and finding his ways to do his best. It is very important not to be forced to stay at home for any time, even a week, as it would be devastating for us,” Rama said.

Regarding the impact on the state coffers from the abolition of profit tax and VAT for small businesses from January 2021, Prime Minister Rama informed that “There are about 40 million dollars.”

“The effect on the budget is significant, but we strongly believe that the effect on employment and the household economy is significant. The state takes over its budget tightening and small business gets one more boost in its work. It is about 40 million dollars “, Rama added./j.p/p.s./
