TIRANA, September 30/ATA/- At the end of the six-month period of 2020, the stock of non-performing loans (NPLs) amounted to about ALL 48 billion, the Bank of Albania (BoA) reported on Wednesday.
According to the Bank of Albania, the main impact on the stability of the value of non-performing loans was provided by the provisions in the loan repayment moratorium, which enabled banks to temporarily suspend the identification of non-performing loans and changes in NPLs.
As a result, non-performing loans are about 24% lower than a year earlier. The decline in non-performing loans over the last 12 months, concentrated in the second half of 2019, has been affected by loan write-offs, repayments and their restructuring.//a.i/
